Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl
Seeing as it’s #Movember and I’m currently on a reading break. Here’s a book which helped build my understanding on what life is about.
Man’s search for meaning by Victor Frankl is an account of the author’s experiences in a Nazi concentration camp.
There are two parts to this book, the first part is on the author’s struggles in the camp. I read this part and didn’t get the hype of the book. It seemed like another book documenting the atrocities of the holocaust. However the second part touches on the significance of purpose in human lives. The author goes into detail on why lack of purpose in life is the main cause of existentialism.
This helped me understand how we tick and how we can continue to tick without falling victim to mental health issues, by always looking for a purpose. It doesn’t need to be a big one, it doesn’t need to be about work, just your purpose.
It’s a short book, only 150 pages. Give it a read!
